The Face Shop Lovely ME:ex Pastel cushion Blusher, Etude House Lovely Cookie Blusher

The Face Shop and Etude House are both my favorite Korean drugstore brands. Both of these blushers are so similar. They retail for around $8 and they both are cushion blushers. So I thought it would be fun to do a comparison review on these blushers. If you want to know which won my heart, please keep on reading…

Packaging

In terms of packaging, both of these are just so cute at the same time. The Face Shop Blush is cuter actually. They both came with puffs which are so adorable but for me I prefer using a brush. They do help you get that natural looking flush however I find it a bit unhygienic since you can’t really wash them.

The Face Shop Blusher is really compact and is in a cardboard packaging when can get dirty easily. However, it is great for travel. Whereas, Etude House Blush can be broken easily. I fell it down once and it has a little crack. I don’t know if you can see it in the picture but it’s kind of annoying since it can be opened very easily now.

Obviously, The Face Shop one is lighter which can be thrown into the purse easily and you don’t have to worry about damaging the product.

Texture

Both of them are so soft, smooth and have buttery textures. However they are both powdery and The Etude House one is a bit chalky and dry compared to Maybelline Cheeky Glow Blush which is also a drugstore blush. The Face Shop one is more powdery although it isn’t chalky or dry.

So, I can’t really decide which is better since they both are just so-so. But If I were to choose, it would be The Face Shop because although it’s powdery, it doesn’t look chalky or dry on the cheeks.

Pigmentation

Coral Cushion Blusher

I bought The Face Shop blush because I thought it has a matte finish but it turns out it has a satin finish and almost sheer with a subtle glow which I surprising ended up liking more.

#10 Peach Parfait

Etude House blush is far more pigmented and has a matte finish. So, in terms of pigmentation Etude House wins it. However, I don’t think neither of these blushes will show up well on medium to dark skin.

Lasting Power

They both have average lasting power. They do fade during the end of the day. The Face Shop Blush is just a little bit more long-lasting than the Etude House one.

Color Range

Etude House has 12 different shades ranging from neutrals to hot pinks and shocking oranges while The Face Shop only has 5 different shades and they are all pastel shades hence the name. So, definitely Etude House wins it with their wide range of color system.

Pricing

The Face Shop retails for $7.6 and contains 5g while Etude House retails for $7.8 and contains 7.8g. So, Etude House Blush is cheaper.

My Verdict

Well, I wouldn’t consider them the best blushers out there in the market but they both give a soft, cute and natural looking flush that makes you look like a doll. If you like natural looking blushes, you will love them. Both of them are affordable and it wouldn’t hurt to have at least one in your collection. However, for medium and dark skin tones, I doubt that they will show up properly.

It all depends on personal preference. For me, if I were to choose between them, it would be…. *Drum rolls*… The Face Shop. I do love the Etude house Blush which is an award winning blush but I prefer the healthy glow and subtle color that The Face Shop Blusher gives.

Here are some looks I created using them. You can check out my Instagram for more.
