Products I Regret Buying

Hey guys! Today I’m doing something a little different. Usually, I do reviews on products I love. So I thought It would be fun to do the opposite. I will be sharing the disappointing beauty products for me so that hopefully, if you are like me, you can get away with it.  Are you guys ready for some RANTS?

Beauty Product Fails
I guess I should start with a little disclaimer.
The information that I am going to share are all based on my own experiences. Everyone is different. We all have different skin types, problems and preferences. What didn’t work for me may work for you. These opinions are purely based on my experiences with them.
So, shall we begin?

1. Nature Republic By Flower Lip Balm in “Peach”

Nature Republic By Flower Lip Balm
I am a hardcore fan of a Kpop idol group called Exo. I bought this from the first sight because I see a member’s picture printed on the pot. It is tinted and stains on my lips for a long time but it does nothing in terms of moisturizing. But instead it even made my lips feel dryer. It’s not just me; my sister also had the same experience with it. It was around $10. I would rather pay $2 for Maybelline Baby lips which are so much better.

2. Etude House Oh! M’ Eye Lash “Top Coat”

Worst Korean Mascara
I’ve seen Youtubers using it as clear mascara. So, I thought it would be great when I want my lashes to look longer and fuller naturally. But actually, it does nothing. It doesn’t lengthen or thicken my lashes at all. What’s worse is that it irritates my eyes- my eyes water every time I try to use it. So, I can’t even use it as a top coat. I decided to use this as a clear brow gel instead and it works but it was around $10 too. Such a waste of money!

3. Etude House I’m Blooming Brightening Mist

Worst Facial Mists
It’s supposed to brighten up the skin and moisturizing it. But I don’t see any brightening effects. After spraying it on my face, I do feel the moisture on my skin but I don’t feel it on the inside of my skin; if you know what I mean. It’s just settle on top of my skin. Once it dries up, I don’t see any difference. I don’t feel like it absorbs into my skin and moisturize it. So, it’s more like scented water to me.

4. Holika Holika Daily Garden Nourishing Deep Cleansing Foam “Yogurt Strawberry”

Worst cleansing foam
This strips away all the natural oils from my skin. My skin feels rough and you know how it feels when your skin lacks moisture and natural oil right? That’s exactly how I feel after using it. I might be good for people who need a deep cleansing. But personally, I would get away with it. It’s too harsh.

5. Etude House Color In Liquid Lipstick in “Peach In Dream”

Worst Liquid Lipstick

It applies so streaky and difficult to blend. The color is just not opaque enough and wears off very easily. However, I don’t find any problems like these with the two other shades I own which are Purple In Friday and Orange In Pop. I featured both of them in my Top 5 Spring Lipsticks post. They glide on smoothly on the lips and work just fine. I don’t know if it’s just this particular shade that doesn’t work or the formulas on lighter shades are different from the darker ones.

6. Nature Republic Skin Smoothing Body Peeling Mist “Phytoncide”

Worst Body Peeling
Because I’ve read positive reviews about it on official Nature Republic Facebook page from Myanmar, I bought this. They said their skin got a lot brighter after using it. So, upon application, it does create small balls that are supposed to get rid of all the dead skin cells. It makes my skin looks glowing and shiny but that’s only when wet. Once I towel dry it, they are all gone and I don’t see any brightening effects. It does make my skin feel softer and smoother. It was around $17 if I’m not mistaken. I wouldn’t pay that much for just so softness and smoothness. Initially, I bought it for brightening effects, so I’m a bit disappointed.

7. Etude House Silk Scarf Hair Treatment

Bad Hair Treatments
You guys know how much I love the hair essence from that line; it’s one of my Top 5 Products from Etude House. So, I gave it a shot. My hair is so damaged especially the ends and it needs intense repair. This does nothing on the damaged ends but it makes the healthy regions of my hair softer which is acceptable since I know my hair’s condition. However, that is not the only problem. I experienced several hair falls after using it which made me so scared to use it again. Conversely, my sister has a very thick and healthy hair and it works just fine for her. She said she did experience some hair loss, but it’s just too little which is normal. So, I guess it all depends on your hair’s condition. But what makes a hair treatment a good one if it’s only good for healthy hair.

Disclaimer: The products mentioned were all bought by me with my own money. As always, the opinions expressed are all my honest opinions.
